Abstract

As wearable electrochemical biosensors develop ever more sophisticated molecular sensing modalities, the instruments for performing these measurements, potentiostats, will need to support advanced electrochemical techniques with improved sensitivity, resolution and miniaturization to enable on-body monitoring. By incorporating a voltage reference generator and onboard signal processing, we have developed a miniature potentiostat, Ministat, that meets these requirements to enable precise and robust electrochemical measurement and analysis in a 2.5 X 2.5 cm footprint. Ministat performs comparably in various electrochemical techniques to a benchtop the electrochemical instrument and extends the capabilities of handheld and wearable potentiostats
