There is an unmet need for the development of a point-of-care (POC) biosensor for monitoring the effectiveness of HIV treatment. POC and resource-limited settings specially demand a solution having salient features like reliability, accuracy, portability, cost-effectiveness, ease of use, robustness, and environment friendly nature. A battery operated, one time usable, refrigeration-free, and disposable sensor that minimizes human intervention during the quantification process would be an ideal candidate in this arena.
