Abstract

The present work shows the proposal and application of a modification of structure of Smith predictor. The new approach is a scheme of two degrees of filtered freedom; additionally, it has a feedback of the estimated disturbances to quickly compensate the different disturbances that can occur, with the correct adjustment of the parameters of this scheme the response of the process can be improved. A comparison is made with the FPPI controller and of two degrees of freedom of W. Zhang through the ISE and TVu performance index. The results show the response of the system with the new proposal improves the performance and robustness when the process has variable delay.
