Abstract

Some aquatic animals are able to detect electrical stimuli using an electroreceptive sense. A simulation system, using Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) simulations was designed to emulate the electroreceptive sense. The sense was tested by distinguishing of the sensing capability of varying distances between an animal model and a contrast object. The simulation showed, that the distinguishability decreased when the distance increased.
