We created a disposable, paper-based microbial battery pack that can potentially deliver energy to the point-of-care (POC) diagnostic devices. The biobattery pack produced an open circuit voltage of 4.3V and a maximum power of 200µW through bacterial respiration. This work established an innovative strategy to revolutionize paper-based biobattery technology, which potentially makes energy available, even in resource-limited settings.
