Cardiovascular imaging in recent years has focused on the biological aspects of coronary atherosclerosis, aiming to evaluate its natural course of the plaque and to predict future coronary events. Multi-modal biological imaging combined with intravascular OCT, albeit still in its early stage, is expected to shed a light in the precise diagnosis of coronary atherosclerosis.
