Looking into Coronary Plaque Biology: Intravascular Multimodal Optical Molecular Imaging Strategy

Abstract

Cardiovascular imaging in recent years has focused on the biological aspects of coronary atherosclerosis, aiming to evaluate its natural course of the plaque and to predict future coronary events. Multi-modal biological imaging combined with intravascular OCT, albeit still in its early stage, is expected to shed a light in the precise diagnosis of coronary atherosclerosis.
