As the lack of affordable healthcare is prevalent in poverty-stricken countries, the ultimate goal of this research is to provide low-cost and accessible methods of detection for diseases, such as Type II Diabetes. From current development, the prototype biosensor works to detect molecules of salivary amylase, and the next step is to analyze and implement methods to reduce fluorescent noise and errors that are present in the sensor.
