The coffee beans drying process is a technique widely used in the agricultural industry. Nowadays, the coffee beans drying processes are not fully studied, and rarely those processes are addressed from the background of the control systems. In this article, a study on the stability, controllability and observability of a coffee beans batch dryer using a nonlinear phenomenological-based model. In addition, a control and an state observer are designed for the studied process.
