Abstract

The rapid urbanization is pressing more and more cities around the world to create new development models based on advanced technologies that improve the quality of life of its citizens. Each week, approximately three million people move to the cities. Municipal governments must move towards more efficient processes by providing services to the city, with the ability to manage urban infrastructure, with long-range strategies that contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in different aspects such as health, mobility, security and social inclusion , among other. This conference will present general aspects of the role in the development of smart cities of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution for Colombia and Latin America associated with the World Economic Forum and its participation in the Global Alliance of Smart Cities G20.
