This paper explored to find the effective parameters derived from second derivative of photoplethysmogram (SDPPG) for accurate vessel age estimation. To reduce the SDPPG waveform variabilities, optimum sensor configuration and mental tasks to stabilize the mental state are also investigated. Based on the stable SDPPG waveform, two parameters, i.e. the normalized third extreme value c/a and the newly defined parameter Sbd which is defined as the slope of second and forth extreme values are shown to be effective. The real data analysis of 231 subjects validated the result.
