Session: Challenges and Opportunities of Cardiac Imaging and Advanced Data Analysis in Cardiovascular Disease

Abstract

Cardiac microstructure critically underlies normal cardiac performance. Cardiac diffusion tensor MRI (cDTI) enables the in vivo evaluation of microstructural remodeling. cDTI methods are poised to provide mechanistic insight to heart failure, especially when coupled with measured loading conditions and MRI-enabled measurements of myocardial kinematics. Herein, we describe recent advances in cDTI that enable evaluation of myocardial microstructure and microstructural dynamics in vivo.
