Abstract

In this paper, a method to increase the forming speed of a liquid discharge system commonly employed in additive manufacturing, will be discussed. A new motion control method of a variable nozzle feeding speed will be proposed to significantly enhance the forming speed and thus productivity can be improved. By the high-resolution and high-speed forming method increasing the flow rate and the nozzle feeding speed and the variable line width forming method switching the forming resolution, the trade-off between forming speed and product quality is avoided. Various experiments are provided to prove the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
