Abstract

In this work, we present a low-cost fabric based neckband developed with an embedded Bluetooth radio module, electret microphone, and a rechargeable Li-ion battery for automatic diet monitoring. Analysis of dietary and non-dietary sounds are performed using a set of spectral features aided with an energy-based activity detector. Segmental features are extracted from 3s buffer windows for real-time classification.
