Vision-Based Bed Detection for Patient Monitoring System in Hospitals

Abstract

In this paper, we describe a method of estimating the bed position of a room from the camera image. An important idea is to extract HOG features using bird's-eye view images. By classifying the HOG features extracted from the bird's-eye view image, it is possible to estimate the bed coordinates with high accuracy.
