Abstract

This study assesses the changes of Frontal Alpha Asymmetry (FAA) obtained from resting-state EEG data and Right Laterality Index at Rest (LIR) given from NIRS data for early detection of depression risk. From the experimental result by periodical NIRS and EEG monitoring of a healthy subject, changes of the FAA and LIR associated with BDI and STAI scores were found. We discuss the potentials of long-term simultaneous NIRS and EEG monitoring.
