Abstract

Having established proof-of-concept for enhanced ethanol ablation in the treatment of superficial solid tumors, it is necessary to determine the optimal injection protocol (e.g. depth and volume) as a function of lesion morphology. To allow for rapid iterations and for use in a variety of lesion types, we are developing a low-cost tunable mechanical surrogate to evaluate the impact of injection protocol design on the distribution volume of the injected solution.
