Abstract

This abstract introduces our activities of science communication using telepresence robots and video conference systems. The people living in islands have often less opportunities of communication with outside of the islands because of traffic problems. In addition, since there are often no museums and universities in the islands, it is not easy for the people to study state-of-the-arts technologies and to apply them to their concerned matters such as business and education. We aim to solve these social problems of the islands attributed to the geographic problems by using several telecommunication tools, and discuss on the benefits and difficulties of using the tools.
