Abstract

MercuryLive is a connected health platform designed to monitor patients in the home and community settings. The system is composed by three major sub-systems: a Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) to collect sensor data, a Central Server that stores and analyzes data to support clinical evaluations, and a Web Platform with video conferencing and data visualization capabilities. Preliminary experiments have shown that the platform is capable of handling multiple simultaneous streaming channels. A proof-of-concept application was implemented to show that the platform is suitable to monitor patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and assess longitudinal changes in the severity of tremor.
