Use of nitrocellulose membranes for lateral flow assay (LFA) systems have demonstrated clinical utility in the form of point-of-care testing devices.Membrane selection is vital to the functionality of the test strip based on its physicochemical properties. Nitrocellulose membranes are investigated herein to determine their properties for a point of care device with flow actuation achieved by melting wax into the membrane.
