Welcome Message from the IPC Chairs
On behalf of the International Programming Committee, we would like to welcome you to the DYCOPS-CAB 2019 symposium!
The DYCOPS symposia were initiated over 30 years ago under the name DYCORD (Dynamics and Control of Chemical Reactors, Distillation Columns and Batch Reactors) in Bournemouth (UK). It was renamed into DYCOPS in 1998 during the 5th edition in Corfu (Greece), and DYCOPS 2019 will now be the 12th edition. CAB (Computer Applications in Biotechnology) originated from a series of events that started 40 years ago in Dijon, France. Its aim was to stimulate contacts between specialists active in academic research and industrial development in all areas of biotechnology. The merging of the two events into a single symposium was successfully implemented in the last DYCOPS-CAB 2016, held in Trondheim, Norway. It is maintained at DYCOPS-CAB 2019.
The International Program Committee implemented a rigorous reviewing process, with either one or two
rounds of reviews for each submission. A total of 168 papers were selected through this process. The final
symposium program comprises 27 oral sessions and 1 poster session, alongside 3 plenary lectures and 8
keynote presentations. All of the keynotes were selected from regular submissions based on review scores
and recommendations by the Area Chairs. Each day of the symposium starts with a plenary lecture; followed by 3 parallel tracks of regular and invited sessions, comprising either 5 or 6 talks, or 4 talks in case a session is preceded by a keynote presentation. Poster presentations are on Thursday morning, and poster presenters are also invited to give a 3-minute talk about their poster on Wednesday morning. The official programme is complemented by 4 topical pre-symposium workshops on Tuesday morning and afternoon.
We wish you a very enjoyable stay in Florianópolis and a productive conference!
